DDTC Announced Denial Policy for Niger

DDTC has recently posted a notice on their website explaining that any export or re-export licenses for USML items to Niger will most likely be denied. Although there is no current US arms embargo on Niger President Mamadou Tandja’s recent steps to amend Niger’s constitution in order to give himself the right to run for a third term has resulted in final decisions on license applications for the Republic of Niger to be delayed, and most likely to be denied.

DDTC is encouraging exporters applying for new licenses to export or reexport USML items to Niger to provide detailed information on the end-use and end-user of those items.
